PROF. FAISAL ABDUL LATIF ALNASIR
Professor AlNasir is Professor of Family Medicine and Vice President of the Arabian Gulf University, Bahrain. He has the honor of being the first Bahrain doctor to be specialized in Family Medicine. He obtained his PhD degree in Family Medicine in 1987 from Glasgow University and is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioner (UK). For more than fifteen years, he has been working in the College of Medicine, Arabian Gulf University, coordinating various Family Medicine academic and training activities. Currently, he is the Chairman of the Scientific Council for Family and Community Medicine, Arab Board. He also serves as a Chief Editor of the Bahrain Medical Society Journal. Professor AlNasir has more than 30 publications in the regional and international journals.

SAMAR BADREDDINE, M.D.
Dr Samar Assem Badreddine is currently working as consultant infectious diseases and director of infection control department at the Dr Soliman Fakeeh Hospital, Jeddah. She is a medical graduate of American University of Beirut and went on to complete her Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Infectious Diseases from the Wayne State University, Detroit Medical Center, USA. Before her current position, she has worked as Head of Infection Control Office and Consultant Infectious Diseases, Rashid Hospital, Dubai, UAE (2009 – 2011). From 2001 to 2009, Dr Badreddine had worked as director of Infection Control Services and Consultant Internal Medicine & Infectious Diseases at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre, Jeddah. Dr Badreddine has been bestowed with several academic awards and she has published numerous papers on infectious diseases.

HUSSEIN GEZAIRY, M.D.
Dr Hussein Abdel-Razzak Al Gezairy was born in the holy city of Mecca in 1934. He graduated from Kasr-el-Eini Faculty of Medicine in Egypt in 1957 obtaining his medical degree, then a Diploma in Surgery in 1960. Subsequently, in 1965, he became Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of England. In 1969, he established the first Faculty of Medicine in King Saud University in Riyadh and became its founding Dean. In recognition of his outstanding contribution to health and medical education he was appointed as Minister of Health in Saudi Arabia in 1975 and held that position for seven years. Under his leadership, three other medical faculties were established, fulfilling the medical education needs of Saudi Arabia. As a Minster of Health, Dr. Gezairy led the expansion of national primary health care services through the establishment of a large number of PHC centers in addition to 35 hospitals. At the international level, Dr Gezairy, participated in the establishment of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, He was also one of the founders and the first President of the Supreme Council and Executive Board of the Arab Board for Medical Specializations that works for raising the standards of medical education and quality of health services. In 1982, Dr Gezairy was elected as the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Region. In this position he has become the leading figure in the promotion of medical education with particular emphasis to Community Oriented Medical Education and leadership development for health. Other major new initiatives introduced under the stewardship of Dr Gezairy and successfully applied include the development of the Prototype Action-oriented School Health Curriculum; a series of booklets about Religion in Health Education and the notion of one Trained Birth Attendant per village or city quarter. During his tenure of office, Dr Gezairy has promoted and fostered close working relationship with international and national partners in health and the development sector, notably with UNICEF, to advance the cause of health and development of the population in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.

GHASSAN HAMADEH, M.D.
After graduating from AUB in 1984, Dr. Hamadeh completed a Family Medicine residency and Faculty Development fellowship in the USA. He stayed shortly as faculty at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) then back to the American University of Beirut (AUB) in 1992. At AUB, he took on a variety of academic and administrative responsibilities within and outside the Faculty of Medicine. He is currently Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Associate Dean for Informatics, Continuing Education and Ambulatory Programs. He has also been President of Lebanese Society of Family Medicine, a consultant to WHO, private health insurance industry, and advisor to Minister of Public Health since 2004. He has published in the areas of community oriented primary care, medical education, medical ethics, management and health informatics and health promotion and disease prevention. Dr. Hamadeh’s most recent work is the editing of a Primary Care Clinical Guide, a small handbook filled with the most recent guidelines needed by primary care providers. The authors are all active clinicians or recent graduates of the department of Family Medicine at AUB.

Dr. Peter Hall is Chairman, Department of Molecular Pathology and Senior Consultant, Office of the Chief Executive Officer, King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh. He is also Professor of Molecular pathology, AlFaisal University, Riyadh. Dr Hall obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of London; MD and PhD also from the same university. He holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Pathology (FRCPath). He was awarded the Goudie Medal for Seminal Contributions to Pathological Research. PROF. ROBERT SCHWARTZ
Professor Robert A. Schwartz, one of the America’s foremost dermatologists, is Professor and Head of Dermatology at New Jersey Medical School. He is also Professor of Medicine, Professor of Pediatrics, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine and professor of Preventive Medicine and Community Health at the New Jersey Medical School, USA. He is Board certified in Dermatology and in Diagnostic & Laboratory Immunology. Professor Schwartz has authored several books, has written 10 monographs, and is the author of over 250 book chapters, 550 articles and 150 other publications. In 1981, Professor Schwartz led one of the three groups that first described AIDS-associated Kaposi sarcoma. In 1978 he described florid cutaneous papillomatosis, also known as Schwartz-Burgess syndrome. He also first described acral acanthotic anomaly (acral acanthosis nigricans).

Dr Salim Parker is the president elect of the South African Society of Travel Medicine (SASTM). His primary interests centers around preparing pilgrims for the annual Hajj, especially those with multiple or terminal medical conditions. He has been accompanying pilgrims for more than a decade, researching menstrual abnormalities and the prevalence of influenza like illnesses. Also does extensive pre-travel consultations to malaria endemic areas. He is the medical co-coordinator for the 1-UP 10km Big Walk, which is the one of largest 10km walks in Africa, with more than 20,000 participants annually raising funds for the Red Cross Children's' Hospital.

In 2005, he completed a diploma in medical education from the University of Dundee, Scotland. He introduced many new teaching interventions in the department of medicine including the new 6th year and 4th year curriculum with problem-based learning and evidence-based medicine approach to teaching and assessment. He created all the new assessment tools used by the department of medicine in the final exams of 4th and 6th year. All his new methodologies were published in MedEd PORTAL, a peer reviewed resource for the American Association of Medical Colleges, with distinction. Currently, the Saudi council is considering the structured oral exam created by Dr. Almoallim as an alternative to the classical long case format. Dr. Scott received his M.D. from Baylor College of Medicine and completed residency in Family Medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. From 2003 through 2009, he was an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a Master of Public Health degree from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in May 2009. Dr Scott joined Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar (WCMC-Q) in 2009 and is involved in teaching, advising, and administration throughout the four years of the Medical Program.
As a Family Medicine physician, he enjoys providing full-spectrum outpatient an inpatient care for patients of all ages. His research interests include improving patient-physician communication, understanding barriers and improving access to cancer screening services, and the development and evaluation of educational media to promote learning as well as behavior change.
